Today's information and communication systems hold huge amount of multimedia data, especially the digital libraries. The user generated volume of audio-visual data has been increasing dramatically with the advent of widely available content generating sources such as mobile phones, digital cameras and recorders. For users the enormous amount of data necessitate intelligent ways of retrieving, searching and consuming it. This project has a main objective of building a multimedia agent addressing these problems. By storing, indexing and searching services for user-produced content it helps preservation of content and creation of personal digital libraries. As a whole, the multimedia agent is an intelligent content manager.
